14. Finding 20% of 1,500 is really the same as finding
(1)/(5) of 1,500. But what you can is that, you can convert 20% into a decimal, and multiply that with 1,500. 20% converted into a decimal is 0.20.

0.20 × 1,500 = 300.

Mike saved 300$ from that paycheck.

15. This is a bit more easier, since 50 is a factor of 100. What I would do is just simply multiply 50 and 2 to get 100, and what you do to one number, you do the same to another. That would make it 80:100.
