EF = 8
F is the midpoint of EG
EF + FG = EG
8 + 2x - 14 = x + 6
2x - 6 = x + 6
2x (-x) - 6 (+6) = x(-x) + 6 (+6)
x = 12
FG = 2(12) - 14
FG = 24 - 14
FG = 10
EG = (12) + 6
EG = 18
EF = 8
FG = 10
EG = 18
hope this helps
