How appropriate is it to call the time period between 1300 and 1650 a scientific revolution

Although it is quite clear that Roman Catholic thinkers, notably Copernicus, Galileo Galilei (1564-1642), and Rene Descartes (1596-1650), played a major role in the early part of the scientific revolution, the later period does seem to be dominated by developments in Protestant countries, even through the Protestant
