There is a square and a triangle
the area of a square is
A = b * h
A = 2*2
A = 4

the area of the triangle is
A = (b*h)/2
A = (2 *2)/2
A = 4/2
A = 2

Now we add them up to find the total area
4 + 2 = 6
The shape has an area of 6 units^2
