The small intestines:
1. RECEIVE FOOD FROM THE STOMACH
2. DIGESTS FOOD
3. ABSORB DIGESTED NUTRIENTS.
During digestion, food moves from the stomach into the small intestines.
90% of all food digestion occurs in the small intestines, the remaining 10% occur in the stomach and the large intestines. Absorption is the process by which needed nutrients are absorbed from the eaten food into the body system, this occur in the small intestines.
