We have to calculate the lateral surface area of the pyramid. This is equal to 4 times the area of the triangular face.

As it is the lateral surface, we don't include the area of the base.

We have the slant height of the face that is 12 cm and the base of the face that is 6 cm.

Then, we can calculate the lateral surface area as:


A_L=4\cdot A_F=4\cdot((6\cdot12)/(2))=4\cdot36=144

Answer: the lateral surface area is 144 cm^2.
