A 6 foot tall person is standing next to a flagpole. The person is casting a shadow of 1 1/2 feet in length, while the flagpole is casting a shadow 5 feet in length. How tall is the flagpole

Answer:

20

Explanation:

when you first get the question it should look like this: 6/1.5 X/5

your gonna wanna cross multiply 6 and 5 then keep 1.5 and X like this: 1.5x

After that, it should look like this 1.5x=30

Now your gonna wanna divide 30 and 1.5 which you will get is 20

X=20. Hoped this helps!

(btw 1 1/2 is 1.5)

Remember this: height/shadow, if you ever get one of these again.
