(a) How much does the distance increase for each hour since Ivaan crossed the bridge .

Answer : from reading our graph we can see that Ivan was at 0 distance before he crossed , after 1 hour, he is at 50 miles distance .

( after 2 hours he is at 100 miles etc. )

Distance at (2 hours ) - Distance at 1 hour = 100 -50 = 50 miles .

• so, Ivans speed increses at 50 miles per each hour travelled.

(b) Finding a slope:

Lets take any corresponding two points on the line, I will take coordinate (7;350) and ( 3; 150)

m = (y2-y1) / (x2 -x1)....

( substitute the above coodinates into the equation)

m = (150-350 ) / (3-7)

m = -200 /-4

m= 50

This means the slope is 50 miles per hour
