The SLOPE is basically the change in height, or the change in distance, and it's usually used in functions, in algebra. It's basically the same as rise over run, and it's used to find the average rate of change in functions.

The formula you would follow for a slope is
(y(2) - y(1))/(x(2) - x(1))
and by the 1 and 2 in the parentheses, I don't mean you would multiply. I mean you would take the second y-intercept value, and subtract it by the first y-intercept value, and then subtract the second x-intercept value by the first x-intercept value, and then divide them both.

Slope is the rate of change of a function, rise over run, x over y. Hope this helps!
