The correct answer is B.

This excerpt from Rena Kornreich Gelissen’s "Rena's Promise: Two Sisters in Auschwitz" takes places in Europe during World War II.

Rena Kornreich was a Polish-born jew. She fled Tylicz, the city were she was raised and hid in Slovakia. But in order to protect the people who were hiding her, she turned herself in to the Nazi authorities and was sent to the Auschwitz concentration camp in Germany.

She was deported in 1942, right in the middle of World War II, and was a part of the first transport of Jewish women into the concentration camp.
