Given the equation below.

(v+2)/(v-1)=(v-2)/(v+3)

Cross Multiply

\begin{gathered} (v+2)(v+3)=(v-2)(v-1) \\ v^2+3v+2v+6=v^2-v-2v+2 \end{gathered}
v^2+5v+6=v^2-3v+2
\begin{gathered} collect\text{ like terms} \\ v^2-v^2+5v+3v=2-6 \\ 8v=-4 \\ v=-(4)/(8)=-(1)/(2) \end{gathered}

Hence, the value for v = -1/2
