3x+18+8x-24=27
11x-6=27
11x=33
X=3

Distribute.
3(x+6)
3x+18
8(x-3)
8x-24
3x+18+8x-24
Combine like terms.
11x-6= 27
Add 6 to the other side.
11x= 33
Divide both sides by 11.
x=3
