Why will an animal cell burst when placed in freshwater?

Beause fresh water is hypoosmotic

Water will try to get into the cell because the two different solutions enviroments, in and out the cell, which are separated with a semi-permeable barrier (only allows to pass throught water), will try to reach the same concentration.
