In "The Rhinoceros" people start seeing Rhinos in the street. People begin changing into rhinos and our main character feels pressure to do the same. He is determined not to conform just because everyone else is doing it.

“The Rhinoceros” is what we call absurd fiction. What are some things in this story that seemed absurd?

What seems absurd is that people are acting different when seeing Rhinoceros than how they usually act. People are treating large, but non-threatening animals, as if they were immediately dangerous. And, a human being would never win a physical battle with a rhinocerous - we would need some type of technological leverage to outsmart them.
