Brazilian Police force In the Amazon are special security force.
In 2012, Brazil government launched a law enforcement raid comprising of the environmental security force, the federal police, Brazilian Environment Institution, and the army. This unit of forest protection was established to combat crimes that involved logging, illegal trespassing, forest fires, etc.
In August 2012, deforestation had increased by 220 per cent from 2011. While initiatives like this were put in place, the deforestation problem continues to be a problem even to this day. In 2019, wildfires have been at high since 2010.
