In a beach volleyball league, the Sea Slugs won 3 of their first 10 matches. The team's sponsor has told them they will lose all funding if they don't win 60% of their matches. If they win 2 out of 3 matches from now on, how many more matches will they have to play in order to win 60% of the total matches?

Let the extra matches they need to play be x, then:-

total they will win = 3 + 2/3 x

so
3 + 2/3 x = 3/5(x + 10)
3 + 2/3 x = 3/5 x + 6
1/15 x = 3
x = 3*15 = 45

Answer they need to play 45 more matches.
