I'd like to be able to make sure children know our history, and to be able to tell them, "Look, America freaking sucks. We're run by idiots, obsessed with oil and are the laughingstock of the world...but here's what you can do to make it better."

This is a personal opinion. However, the department I would be most interested in running would be the Department of Agriculture. This is because agriculture is the one thing we absolutely need for survival. Farmers are the people who allow the country to run, as they provide nourishment to everyone. Moreover, farmers often receive little payment and face enormous financial risks. Finally, the topic of agricultural practices is extremely important for the environment and sustainability, which is one of the most pressing and important topics in the modern world.
