CHECKS and BALNCES .They are princeples of government under which seprate branches are empowered to prevent actions by other branches and are included to share power.

The president has the power to check up on the executive and legislative branch an example would be power of congressional apprehension.This prevents the executive branch from spending over the daily government quota .
