You have to combine like terms.

Like terms are those with the same letters raised to the same power.

These are the sums of the like terms:

1) 4y^2 + y^2 + 14y^2 = 19y^2

2) - 3y + 4y - 7y = - 6y

3) - 6 - 2 = - 8

Simplified expression: 19y^2 - 6y - 8<------------ answer
