This is the biasing power of diagnostic labels. By labeling something as a disorder or as negative, an implicit bias becomes a part of the diagnosis. The person who learns that the other has such a disorder then makes assumptions about the person and their behaviors based upon these assumptions and biases. In this case, Anika's assumptions about the professor's actions would be an example of her biases coloring her judgments.
