Of the 83 people who answered "yes" to a question, 12 were male. of the 50 people that answered "no" to the question, 5 were male. if one person is selected at random from the group, what is the probability that the person answered "yes" or was male?

First we have to find the amount of people who said yes: 83 (males that said yes are included)
Now lets find the number of males who said no: 5
Now lets get the total people. 83 said yes, 50 said no:

83 + 50 = 133
If we add the number of possible outcomes (males or people who said yes)

83 + 5 = 88
and put over number of outcomes we got the probability:

(88)/(133) = 66.17\%
