For an art project each student will need 2 4/5 Yards of string. If there are 36 yards of string, About how many students can participate?

Only 12 students can participate.
When you divide 36 by 2.8 (or 2 4/5) you get 12.85....
Since you cannot have .85 of a person, 12 is the final answer.
