Two angles are complementary. One contains 20° more than the other. Find both angles. The measures of the angles are

Let the larger angle be x, then the other angle is 90-x, since the angles are complementary.
Given one is 20° larger than the other, therefore
x-(90-x)=20
solve for x
2x=110, x=55, x-20=35 Check: 55+35=90 (=complementary)
Answer: the angles are 55 and 35°.
