We have that:

- When two events do not occur simultaneously then they are termed as Mutually exclusive events.

- When the occurence of one event will not control the happening of the other event in an experiment then it is termed as an independent event.

Therefore, in this case the events:

"The first roll of a die is 3" and "the second roll of the die is 6" are independent and mutually exclusive.

Answer: The events are independent and mutually exclusive
