A function that models the rectangle with surface area s in terms of length x of one side of its base is s = 2(x²+140/x)

What is a quadrilateral?

quadrilateral is a plane mathematical closed figure consist of four side and four edges. There are 7 types of quadrilateral.

Trapezium, Parallelogram, Rectangle, Rhombus, Square, Kite.

Here, it is given that :

Volume of rectangle = 70 ft³

length of side of square base = x

let third side of rectangle be = y

Now, the volume of rectangle will be :

Volume of rectangle = lbh

x²y = 70

y = 70/x²..........(1)

Surface area of rectangle will be :

s = 2(lb+bh+hl)

s = 2(x² + 2xy)

Now, substituting value of y from equation (1) in above equation :

s = 2(x² + 140x/x²)

s = 2(x²+140/x)

Therefore, a function that models the rectangle with surface area s in terms of length x of one side of its base is s = 2(x²+140/x)
