Only q represents a a function, as in order for f(x) or a graph to be considered a function, each x value must have a unique y value. The domain may repeat, however the range cannot. In this particular case, for f(p) the number -7 repeated twice in the range, therefore it is not a function. However, in f(q), each xa value corresponded to a unique y value, making a it a function.
