7 1/2 = 7.5

7.5 - 1/6 = is 6.5

Answer:

The amount of the good potatoes is
6(1)/(4) pounds

Explanation:

In order to calculate this you need to multiply the amount of pounds in the bag of potatoes, by the amount of good potatoes, so you first need to calculate the good potatoes, as the bad ones are 1/6 the others are 5/6, so you just multiply 5/6 by 7 1/2 to calculate the amount of good chips:

7((1)/(2)) ((5)/(6) )\\((1+14)/(2)) ((5)/(6) )\\((15)/(2)) ((5)/(6) )=(75)/(12)\\ 6(3)/(12)\\ 6(1)/(4)

So the amount of the good potatoes is
6(1)/(4) pounds.
