Dilation of 3. Just count the squares... the smaller one has 3 squares and the larger has 9.

Answer: The scale factor 3 is used to create the dilation.

Step-by-step explanation: We are given original small triangle.

And center of dilation is (-2,-2).

We got a larger triangle after dilation of small triangle.

We can see that small triangle has side with 3 units and larger triangle has sides with 9 units.

The ratio of sides of larger triangle to smaller triangle is 9:3 = 9/3 = 3/1.

That is 3:1.

So, we could just say that larger triangle sides are 3 times in length of sides of smaller triangle.

Therefore, the scale factor 3 is used to create the dilation.
