y = -4 + 8x

Steps:
2x - 1/4y = 1

Subtract 2x from both sides:
2x (- 2x) - 1/4y = 1 - 2x

Then simplify:
-1/4y = 1 -2x

Multiply both sides by -4:
(-1/4y) (-4) = 1 (-4) - 2x (-4)

Simplify and get the answer:
y = -4 + 8x
