this is a parabola, with vertex at (-5, 1), the line of symmetry is x=-5, the parabola opens upward because x² has a positive coefficient, which is 1.

so if you quickly sketch the parabola, you will see that the A and C are the right answers.

to the right of x=-5, as x increases, f(x) increases;
A is included in -5<x<∞, so A is also correct

to the left of x=-5, as x increases, f(x) decreases.
