In what two ways did world war 1 affect the women in the United States?

lots of them lost their husbands and some got really hurt

Since almost all the older men were needed to serve in the battle of the actual war. Women had to begin taking some of the men's old jobs. Also, some served to help with the wars distribution of weapons, medicines, clothes, and food. Women weren't just at home like usually they actually had to begin working.
