I read War of the Worlds, but I am only 13 so I may not understand as well as adults. I am assuming it would be A because it goes in depth about what the Martians have such as the red weed, because humans couldn't fight back the diseases on Earth was what brought the Martians down.

The correct answer is D) To emphasize what could happen if an enemy caught England with its guard down.

In The War of the Worlds, Wells chose to have Martians instead of a more realistic enemy attack England to emphasize what could happen if an enemy caught England with its guard down.

British author H. G. Wells wrote the science fiction novel "The War of the Worlds" that first appeared in 1857 in Pearson's Magazine in England, and later in the Cosmopolitan magazine in the United States. The story refers to a war between humans and extraterrestrials beings that invaded the English territory. The author chose to have Martians instead of a more realistic enemy attack England to emphasize what could happen if an enemy caught England with its guard down.
