Given:

The equation is:

8x^2-23x=0

To find: x

Breaking the equation into factors,

x(8x-23)=0

Since the product of two terms is zero,then either of the two is zero .

Hence,either

x=0\text{ or (8x-23)=0}

Further solving,we get:

\begin{gathered} 8x-23=0 \\ 8x=23 \\ x=(23)/(8) \end{gathered}

The answer is: x=0 or x= 23/8

Or ,

x=0\text{ or x=2}(7)/(8)
