Fauvism is considered as the earliest Avant -Garde movement peaking between 1905 and 1907. Fauvism is the style of les fauves - French name for wild beasts. The leaders of this modern art were Andre derain and Henry Matisse whose members used the intense colors to describe space and light and redifined pure colour to communicate the emotional state of the artist.
