Answer:

\rm = {5y}^(2) + 3y + 5 + {3y}^(2) - 5 - 3y - {8y}^(2)

\rm = 5 {y}^(2) + {3y}^(2) - {8y}^(2) + 3y - 3y + 5 - 5

= 0

The expression is
5y^2+3y+5+3y^2-5-3y-8y^2.

Collecting the constants, the first degree, and second degree terms together we have:

(5-5)+(3y-3y)+(5y^2+3y^2-8y^2)=0+0+0=0.
