To LCD, or the least common denominator of a fraction is the least common multiple of the two denominators, 8 and 12. To start, first list out a couple multiples for each denominator:
12: 12, 24, 36, 48, 60, 72, 84
8: 8, 16, 24, 32, 40, 48, 56, 64, 72, 80

Now, when you take a look at the multiples, notice that the numbers both have several common multiples, however the question asks for the least common multiple. When you look at the least, the least common multiple for the denominator would be 24.

Hey there!

All you really have to do is look at the denominator which is 12 and 8, and see if there are any numbers that repeat itself
12 and 8, then
24 and 16, then
36 and 24

You can see that 24 repeats itself so, therefore, the LCD of 11/12 and 1/8 is 24
