Write an equation parallel to the line Y=3x-1 and passes through (-2,-8)

Can someone explain to me the steps pls? I'm too dumb to know this ;-;

use point slope form. y-y1=m(x-x1). and the fact that parallel lines have the same slope.

y+8=3(x+2). or equivalently. y= 3x-6
