the probability that the card is a football card is 20 out of 50 or 40%
the probability that the card is a basketball card is 10 out of 50 or 20%

Probability of getting a foot ball card =

=(20)/(50)

Probability of getting a basketball card =
\frac{\text{No. of basketball card}}{\text{Total carrds}}


=(15)/(50)

Since each card is different from another , so the events of drawing any card are independent.

In this case P(foot ball card or basket ball card)= P(foot ball card ) +P(basketball card)


=(20)/(50)+(15)/(50)=(35)/(50)=(7)/(10)

Thus , the probability that the card is a football card or basketball card is
(7)/(10) .
