I’m assuming this equation is equal to 0, and we’re solving for w?

So first, we need to expand out the -8:
-8(2 - 3w) - 5w = 0
-16 + 24w - 5w = 0

Then collect our variables:
-16 + 24w - 5w = 0
-16 + 19w = 0

Then we move our constants to the other side:
-16 + 19w = 0
19w = 16

Then we divide out the 19 to get w by itself:
19w = 16
w = 16/19

Then normally we reduce it, but in this there’s no common factor. So 16/19 is our answer! :)
