The rectangular pool has 6 lanes that run the entire length of the pool, this means that the length of the lane is equal to the length of the pool and if you add the width of the lanes together you'll determine the width of the pool.

If each lane is 4 foot wide, then the pool's width will be:


w=6\cdot4=24

The area of a rectangle is calculated as the multiplication of its width and length following the formula:


A=w\cdot l

We know the width and area of the pool, using this formula we can calculate the length:


\begin{gathered} A=w\cdot l \\ l=(A)/(w) \\ l=(2400)/(24)=100 \end{gathered}

The length of the pool is 100feet.

Now that we know the length and feet we can calculate the perimeter and volume of the pool using de corresponding formulas:

Perimeter of a rectangle


\begin{gathered} P=2w+2l \\ P=2\cdot24+2\cdot100 \\ P=248 \end{gathered}
