First, find 1% of 3,000, which is 30.
Divide 480 by 30 = 16
16% was spent on books.
Hope this helps!!!

Answer:

She spent 16% on books.

Explanation:

A student's cost for last semester at her community college was = $3,000

She spent on books = $480.00

The percentage of last semester's college costs was spent on books

=
(480)/(3,000)* 100

= 0.16 × 100

= 16%

She spent 16% on books.
