What they were accused of was robbing a shoe company at gun point. Nothing to do with anarchism. But at the trial their political affiliations kept coming up as reason enough to declare them guilty. Supposedly the judge actually said to the jury at one point, "This man [Vanzetti], although he may not have actually committed the crime attributed to him, is nevertheless morally culpable, because he is the enemy of our existing institutions."

Answer:

Sacco and Vanzetti were linked o the fear of Bolshevism and anarchism because they both believed capitalism had to be replaced and maintained opposition postures against the American spheres of power and influence.

Step-by-step explanation:

First of all, we have to understand who these guys were. Sacco was a shoemaker. Vanzetti a fish peddler. Both in their early 30s late 20s. They were found guilty of murder. With what the public called flimsy evidence. The public believed the real reason that got them involved in the event were two things their inmigrant background and their opposing ideologies against capitalism and the spheres of American power.

The evidence used to prove their crime was circumstantial and powerfull people participated in the trial, declaring that the "good" was performed.
