A man is known to speak truth 2 out of 3 times. he throws a die and reports that number obtained is a four. find the probability that the number obtained is actually a four.

Ok so in this problem we need to multiply the probability of both events together to find how likely it is that the die actually rolled a 4.

(2)/(3) is the amount of times he speaks the truth, so we multiply that by
(1)/(6) for the die, because the die has 6 sides

(1)/(6) ×
(2)/(3) =
(2)/(18)
Simplify to get
(1)/(9). Hope this helped!
