A hypothesis is considered to be a scientific guess that is made on previous knowledge and observation but there is no guarantee that it would be proved right after experimentation.

To support and prove a hypothesis, experiments are performed. If a hypothesis is not supported by any experiment, it will give us vague and wrong information based on mere subjective observations and them and is false. An un-supported hypothesis provides wrong information.
