Answer: 2.3 ft :)

I got the answer wrong on aleks and soon after it gave me the right answer!

We are given

The ladder (Hypp)=7

and the angle=64

since


Cos(\theta)=(Adj)/(Hyp)

then


Cos(64)=(Adj)/(7)

Solving for Adj to find the base


Adj=7Cos(64)=3.068

then the bottom of the ladder is 3.07 ft from the house
