Paul worked 40 hours of his regular pay.
(40 x 7.25 = $290)

Paul worked 3 hours of time and a half.
(3 x 7.25 + 3.625 (half of 7.25) = 10.875)
So 3 x 10.875 = $32.625

$32.625 + $290.00 = $322.62

Answer:

Paul's total pay was $322.63.

Explanation:

Paul worked for 40 hours at a rate of $7.25

and he did 3 hours overtime at a rate of time and a half = 7.25 × 1.5 = $10.875

His total pay = 40(7.25) + 3(10.875)

= 290 + 32.625

= $322.625 ≈ $322.63

Paul's total pay was $322.63.
