We are told that the total surface area of cylinder A is 180cm². Thus;

2πr² + 2πrh = 180

Now, we are told that the height of cylinder B is twice the height of cylinder A.

This means that the length scale factor is 2. And as such the area scale factor is 2² = 4.

Thus area of cylinder B = 180 × 4 = 720 cm²
