A supermarket sells 11 different sandwiches, 9 snacks and 5 drinks.

They have an offer: "Buy a sandwich and get either a snack or a drink for free."
How many different meals can you get on the offer?

Answer: There are 154 different meals that you can get with this offer.

Explanation:

The total number of combinations will be equal to the product of the numbers of options for each selection.

Here we know that:

"Buy a sandwich and get either a snack or a drink for free."

Then we have two selections:

Sandwich, where we have 11 different types.

Snack or a drink (we can choose only one) there are 9 options for snacks, and 5 options for drinks, then there is a total of 9 + 5 = 14 options.

The total number of different combinations is:
