Because sexual reproduction is faster than asexual reproduction. The water flea would have to inseminate itself somehow with asexual, but sexual reproduction is faster in terms of the male can inseminate many female fleas at once.

Answer:

Daphnia increases in number in the spring through asexual reproduction because there is more food in spring so the females can clone themselves. in fall, the conditions are more stressful because there is less food. Daphnia increases in number in fall through sexual reproduction because then there is a higher chance the species to survive and for genetic variations.

dont copy paste cuz thats plagerism
