Evaluate ( 1024 ) -1/4 -4/5

Okay, I'm gonna guess that you meant 1024^(3/5), which is much easier to calculate than the other one. ^_^ First thing to recognize is that 1024 is a power of 2. 2^10 = 1024. However, you also know that 2^10 is the same thing as 4^5 (and you could have gone straight to recognizing 1024 as a power of 4 anyway, but meh), so now you know that the fifth root of 1024 is 4. So now what you have is simply 4^3 instead of 1024^(5/3). And of course, 4^3 is just 4*4*4 = 64. Have fun!
